With the approaching Christmas holidays you may wonder, what is Christmas like on St. Maarten?
The hospital and the entire island of St. Maarten becomes a very magical place during the Christmas holidays. The holiday is always associated with the wonderful sounds and smells of the season. A visit to a house brings on an array of smells filled with cakes, tarts, ginger beer, and mauby and most times new or redone furniture.
Walking thru the streets one would hear Christmas music - both religious and secular, church bells, special radio programs. Many may consider St. Maarten to be a ‘melting pot’ of cultures and traditions. Often the music of the season reflects local culture during Christmas it’s not uncommon to hear Christmas carols in various music genres.
In St. Maarten, you'll be treated to images of Santa, messages of joy and a blending of old and new Christmas traditions. This is no doubt the reason why many persons from St. Maarten who live abroad prefer to go "home" for Christmas. It's not the same anywhere else.
At the SMMC we recruit qualified employees for our organization and as such you work in a team of skilled professionals. We believe that your career is yours; you choose your path and make it work for you. If you are willing to contribute your knowledge and skills to continue improving quality healthcare then you would fit well at the St. Maarten Medical Center. And if the Christmas you're dreaming of is filled with white sand beaches, warm sunshine, sparkling blue waters, waving palm trees and fun loving locals, in St. Maarten is where you want to be.”
